This Sunday we’re going to take a one-week break from our Shine mega-series for a special service called 15 Years Later. We’ll remember and reflect on the events of 9/11 and then spend some time in guided prayers for our kids, our churches, our leaders, and our country.
Because of the nature of the subject, the service will have a bit more of a somber tone as well as some moments of emotional intensity. For this reason, we’ve rated it PG-13, meaning if you have smaller children it would be a great day to make sure they are in our wonderful and amazing Adventureland program. Also, if you could make a special effort to be in the auditorium right at 9:30 or 11:00 that would be very helpful.
This Sunday is also the first session of our eight-week Starting Point class. If you’re new to Christianity or have been away for a while, Starting Point is a great way to discover “the basics” of what Christians believe and practice. The class runs from 9:30-10:30 and is free of charge. If you’d like to attend, go here to register.
Finally, if you were at church last Sunday, you heard me mention at the end of the service that one of our production team members, Eddie Gonzales, had unexpectedly passed away on Saturday afternoon. We’re doing the funeral in the NHCC Cafe 11:00 tomorrow morning. If you knew Eddie or his family, you’re welcome to attend.
