05-25-16 The SHINE Generosity Project

As I have mentioned many times in recent days, I believe that our church and churches everywhere have a great opportunity in this season of disillusionment with “the system” and “the establishment.” That’s why I’m doing five series of messages focused on how individual Christians and churches can carry out Jesus’ calling for us to be “light in the darkness.”
Several weeks ago, I began the first of those series, SHINE through Generosity. I decided to start with this particular issue because one of the most striking and differentiating characteristics of the first Christians was their generosity. Even today, generous people stick out. They SHINE.
Last Sunday, as we concluded the series, I shared a practical way to implement what we’ve learned. (Click here to watch, listen to or read the message if you missed it). We’re calling it the SHINE Generosity Project. The purpose is simply to encourage those who call North Heartland “home” to consider setting up recurring donations through our website or app.
Why is that helpful and important? Because, as we learned in the series, true generosity is more than “random acts of giving” here and there. Instead, it’s the premeditated, calculated, designated emancipation of personal financial assets. And a great way to implement that, as I said at the end of Sunday’s message, is to automate our giving.
So, this email is to invite you to be generous to North Heartland as we attempt to become an even brighter light in our community. In fact, it would be great if you would visit our website or app and set up a recurring donation right now!

Thanks for taking the time to read this email and for considering my request. Have a great day!
P.S. This Sunday we start the next installment of the SHINE series … Shine Through Graciousness. More info to follow on Friday!
