07-29-18 @North Heartland: "Murder on the Orient Express"
Hello family and friends of North Heartland!
Hope you have had a chance to enjoy this beautiful morning ... and that you will also be able to enjoy the third in our series of five great movies as At the Movies 2018: When Evil Comes to Call continues this Sunday with the 2017 remake of Agatha Christie's fabulous Murder on the Orient Express. I don't know about you, but I had not seen the original movie (from 1974) and I also didn't read Christie's book (written in 1934) in high school. I'm sure it was assigned but I wasn't the most disciplined of students in those days. :)
Therefore, I was not aware of the big "twist ending" to the story and, as I watched the movie, I also didn't have a clue that it was coming - two factors which increased the impact for me (and overcame the feeling that the movie was probably a bit too long). So, if you haven't yet seen this one, I encourage you to do so before Sunday!
More importantly, the point of the movie with respect to how we understand and deal with malevolent evil (one of the five types we're looking at in this series) is incredibly powerful. There's even a surprise twist in that and I can't wait to share it with you, so I hope you'll be present or watching online.
Until then, have a great weekend!
