09-17 @North Heartland: Ask the Hard Questions
Good afternoon NHCC family and friends,
First of all, thank you to everyone who commented on the helpfulness of last Sunday's message, Walk Toward the Mess. Dealing with conflict - especially there is a lot of junk from hard and hurt feelings that have not been addressed - is not fun but is a key component of building something great. If you missed the message you can check it out here.
This Sunday we'll look at number five of the six values-based principles, Ask the Hard Questions. We've great music (again!) plus a hilarious illustration of why it is so difficult to ask the questions that enable us to move from mediocrity towards greatness in whatever it is we're building - family, business, church, team and even ourselves.
While I have your attention, just a couple of shameless plugs for two really important events:
First, the Annual North Heartland Charity Golf Tournament happens Friday, October 6th at Tiffany Greens Golf Club. Registration is at noon with shotgun start at 1pm. The format is a four-person scramble. If you sign up before the 24th, the cost is $90. After that it's $100. Profit from the tournament goes to benefit two of our Impact Partners, One by One Project and Restoration House KC. These awesome organizations work to rescue and restore women and children who have been victims of trafficking right here in our town. I'm playing for them (and for fun, too :)) and I hope you will join me. Click here to sign up.
Second, this Sunday from 5-7pm we'll be holding our North Heartland Volunteer Class. If you are currently a volunteer at NHCC in any capacity or if you're thinking about volunteering, this class is for you. As you can tell from our current series, we are pretty particular about how things work around here and that extends to how we treat and train our volunteers. Free dinner and free childcare are provided you let us know in advance that you are coming. Click here.
See you Sunday at church!
